I would like to know if you planned the developpment of the story right from the beginning of the writing of the book or if the story developped himself during the process of writing the book. Secondly I would like to know how you have come to the idea to write a book about this topic. Please try to answer my questions.

Dear diary


Today was a terrible day. AJ s ex-girlfriend Erika knock me down. She hits me in the eyes
and she shouted at me, that A.J. and me can not be together and suddenly A.J. arrived
and rescued me. She hates me really and I do not know what to do , I can not handle
her reactions, I do not want to imagine what would have happened if A.J. had not rescued me.
I am very scared about Erika. Now I have to cool my eyes.

Chapter 39-up to the end

In chapter 39 Erika is visiting Franco, she is taking drugs and she is sleeping with Franco, because she wants to forget A.J. In chapter 40 is the graduation day and in chapter 41 we appear, that Erika has a job now and that Kelli , on of her friends is pregnant but she does not know who is the father of her child. In chapter 42 the reader appears, that Ruthie goes to the Stanford University and A.J. is going to the Florida State Universtiy and because of this A.J. and Ruthie must say goodbye to each other and they do not know really what happens to their relationship when they are so far away from each other. In chapter 43 Erika has changed and she is pround of herself because she can stand on her own and in chapter 44 A.J. is saying goodbye to his mother on the churchyard and he is moving to Florida . In the last chapter of the book Ruthie talks with Erika and realized how much they had in common.

Chapters 35-38

In chapter 35 Erika wants to battle Ruthie , but Ruthie told Erika, what she thinks of her(for example she told her that she is a nothing and that she has nobody on her side) and because of this Erika is running crying away from her school. In chapter 36 Erika is still very sad and because she believes in God she asks him for help. With chapter 37 we have an example what other students think about Erika ( in this case its Shanice and she does not feel very sorry for Erika). In chapter 38 Erikas friends are visiting Erika who has not been at home for a couple of days and they told her again to kick Ruthie , but Erika has changed , she does not want to hurt Ruthie anymore.

Chapters 32-33

In chapter 32 Erikas friends and some boys are visiting the prom party but Erika is not at the prom because she is visiting her father in Phoenix. She has ripped up her prom dress when she has heard that A.J. had left her. And Ruthie is also at the prom party but not with A.J. because she has promised Christian, a friend of her to go with him. The friends of Erika want to " talk some shit to her" but Kevin said to them to leave her alone . Then they decided to wait untill Erika is back. In chapter 33 Erika is in Phoenix with her dad and she is visiting Dane (he is taking drugs) and she spends the night with him in his bed .

Chapters 25- 31

In chapter 25 A.J. is again at the home of Ruthie (he is visiting Ruthie late in the evening) , and first they are talking but later they are kissing each other and because of this Ruthie is very confused and very tired at school the day after (chapter 26) and a friend of Ruthie , Andrea is talking with her and Ruthie told her what happened between her and A.J, and A.J. wants to leave Erika. In chapter 27 A.J. knows now what love is and he told Ruthie that he loves her. But in chapter 28 Erika hears that A.J. and Ruthie are a couple now and she is very angry and she wants to kill Ruthie. In chapter 29 Erika is looking for Ruthie and when she found her with A.J. , A.J. told her that he and Ruthie are together now and A.J. told Ruthie, that Erika could be a real dangerous person(chapter 30) . In chapter 31 Erika is still very angry and sad and she and her " friends " destroy the tires of Ruthies car as a warning.

Chapters 19-24

In chapter 19 Ruthie found A.J. at the churchyard when he was talking with his mom. Later A.J. and his little brother Anthony are invited to eat dinner at the house of Ruthie s family,and A.J. and Ruthie are talking about Anthony. Later when Anthony and A.J. are at their house, Anthony asks A.J. what kind of a person her mother was and A.J. is not telling the truth to his little brother (he told him that her mother likes him , but her mother hates Anthony.) In chapter 20 A.J. and Anthony are again at the house of Ruthie ,and Anthony can stay there for a week when A.J. is not at home (during the spring break he is at Florida) and because A.J. spends so much time with Ruthie Erika, his girlfriend is jealous(chapter 21) . In chapter 22 A.J. has a race and Ruthie has fallen in love to A.J and in chapter 22 the reader appears, that Anthony can stay at the home of Ruthie when A.J. is going to the college. In chapter 24 Erika was singing in her church concert and she was a wonderfull singer but she does not like the fact, that A.J. came to her concert with Ruthie.

chapters 13-18

In chapter 13 the reader appears that Ruthie is a finalist for the Negro Students competition because she is so good in school and she wants to teach A.J. little brother Anthony who has problems in school. But in chapter15 A.J. do not want that Ruthie teachs his little brother but Ruthie told him that Anthony has problems with his reading. In chapter 16 Ruthie and A.J. are having a lots of trouble with each other because Ruthie has spoke with A.J. about his mother who commited suicide and A.J. do not want to talk about his mother. But in chapter 17 A.J. talks with Ruthie about her mother and about his brother Franco who is a dopeman and A.J. wants that Franco stay away from his little brother Anthony because as a dopeman he is a bad influence for Anthony . Later at home Franco and A.J. are fithting with each other because A.j. told Franco to stay away from his brother Anthony. In chapter 18 A.J. left his house and he is not in school and at home for a week.

Chapters 7-12

In chapter 7 the reader appears, that Erika is a religious person (she believes in God and she is a member of the churchsingers ) . In chapter 8 A.J. is not sure if he loves Erika really because he does not know really what love is. Because of this he asks Ruthie if she know what is love. In the same chapter the reader appears that Ruthie wants to come to the home of A.J. to help him with his schoolwork. But in chapter 9 A.J. forgot that Ruthie wants to help him with his school stuff and because of this he is not prepared to work with Ruthie and the result of this scene is that Ruthie drives home. In chapter 10 A.J. is in the newspaper because he wants to become a professional football player and in chapter 12 A.J. is playing for the Florida State University from now on and because of this Erika is very proud and she and A.J. are making love at the end of the chapter.

the first chapter

in the first chapter, you get some information about AJ, Ruthie and Erika. AJ is Erika's boyfriend and AJ and Ruthie are in the same Chemical class. all of them are black, but Ruthie doesn't seems like a black girl, she speeks a really good english and she doesn't live in a big house, so everyone thinks she's a little bit crazy. One day AJ has an accident with some chemicals, which exploed and fly in Ruthi's face. so AJ has to drive Ruthie at home, but Erika sees both and thinks AJ starts an affair with Ruthie, because Erika is very jalous, but he doesn't. After this she has an idea, she will also meet an other boy and AJ should see her with this guy...

The first chapters of the book (chapters 1-6)

In the first chapters of the book Coming of Age,A.J. . a black student causes an accident in the chemical course and his coursemate Ruthie was injured in this accident. Because A.J. had cause this accident he had to drive Ruthie home . But there is a problem named Erika. Erika ( the girlfriend of A.J.) is veary jealous because she has heard that her boyfriend had been seen with another girl and she wants to find out who this girl is.
After some time Erika knows which of the black students at the school is Ruthie and she has trouble at home with her mother beceause she thinks that her mother do not like her because of her half-black skin ( Erikas mother is a white person, but erikas father is a black person) . Later in chapter 5 Bill ( another student ?) is giving a party at his home and to make A.J. jealous Erika starts kissing another guy and because of this A.J. is jealous and he starts kissing another girl ( Trina) . And in chapter 6 Ruthie has trouble with her mother because she did not want to go to the church anymore. This is my summary of the chapters 1-6 . I did not understand why Erika is so jealous because of Ruthie and I think that she is a little bit grazy and that she and her girlfriends always wants to have trouble with other students. I also think that racism is an important theme in this book and I think that the book is easy to read and interesant.
